Who we are

Happy Acre Animal Sanctuary is dedicated to creating a humane and compassionate alternative for difficult-to-place, special needs, abused, abandoned, and homeless pets and we are a Nevada State nonprofit animal sanctuary located just over the California/Nevada border in Pahrump, NV.

Our purpose

Conceived and created by Steven A. Benson, a retired Hollywood actor, Happy Acre has been serving as a loving, no-kill option for the kinds of animals and pets other organizations find too difficult to either care for or place.

With a wide circle of friends and professional contacts in rescue organizations such as the Humane Society, Happy Acre has been able to offer specialized personal care, giving these often severely traumatized animals a chance at a decent life at the skilled hands of a kind human being.

Nationally recognized for his dedication, hard work, and absolute commitment to saving otherwise un-savable and rejected animals, Steven lives by the creed of St. Francis, giving unconditional love and care to “…all creatures, large and small.”

We need your help

Happy Acre Sanctuary operates solely on donations.  Without your help we cannot care for our animals or provide a home for them.  Please visit our animal page, meet our wonderful animals large and small, then help us by making a donation or volunteering your time.
